Race for Freedom Dogs Fundraiser

Hello,

I hope this message finds you well. Today, I am excited to share a personal challenge and commitment I've made, which also serves a greater purpose: On March 17th, I will be running in the Los Angeles Marathon, and I'm doing it for Freedom Dogs, a cause that is incredibly important to me because I personally have had family members that have served for our country and seen the toll it can take on oneself.

Freedom Dogs is a nonprofit organization devoted to helping military members with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) , traumatic brain injury (TBI), and other impairments. They provide these veterans with service dogs to help make the transition back to civilian life which can be very hard. It is reported that 44-72% of veterans experience high levels of stress making the transition from military to civilian life. In addition, not to get grim but death by suicide by veterans has accounted for 4 times the deaths than war operations since 9/11.

Here's the twist- I will be taking on this marathon with no prior training. Yes, you read that right. It's a testament of how strongly I believe in making a difference through this cause. To add to the challenge, I will be coming straight from a week-long trip in Columbia and participating in a golf tournament fundraiser for freedom dogs the next day, March 18th. This unorthodox approach to marathon running symbolizes the unexpected challenges those benefiting from Freedom Dogs face every day.

I am reaching out to ask for your support in this journey. By pledging to donate what you can afford for my completion of the race you are fueling my goal of crossing the finish line and making a meaningful contribution to those that fight for our freedom.

To pledge your support, please go to Freedom Dogs and put “Ryan’s Marathon for FD” in the dedication box. Every bit of encouragement, whether financial or moral, is valuable!

Thank you for reading and considering supporting this cause. Your contribution, in any form, is greatly appreciated and will make a significant difference in the lives of others.

God Bless,

Ryan Luther
